CTR Coatings utilizes the patented SpectraShield Liner System which has been installed in over 47,000 structures in the US, Europe and the Carribean. This product has a 100 year design life and a 10 year manufacturer and installer warranty. SpectraShield is a 3-layer stress-skin panel system which stops infiltration and corrosion. This system is comprised of a moisture barrier coat of silicone modified polyurea, a layer of polyurethane foam to fill voids and restore the surface to its original emplacement, and a corrosion barrier of silicone modified polyurea. CTR Coatings has installed SpectraShield liner to over 500,000 square feet.
The SpectraShield System
- Preparation: Existing structures are properly prepared to remove soils and eroded surfaces. Water blasting provides a sound, reliable surface to receive the SpetraShield coating.
- Moisture Barrier: The lining process starts with a barrier coat of modified hybrid polyurea. This moisture barrier and adhesion coat becomes the inside layer of a multi-layer polymer system that will form a stress-skin panel when complete.
- Surfacer: Next a surfacing coat of closed cell poluurethane is applied. This material fills all the voids, eroded areas, bug holes, and missing mortar joints, restoring the surface to its original emplacement.
- Corrosion Barrier: Finally a top coat of the modified hybrid polyurea provides the corrosion barrier as well as the third layer of the multi-layer stress-skin panel. The total thickness of all three layers is a minimum of 500 mils.
